TEST OF ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE (TOEFL®)

The purpose of the TOEFL test is to evaluate the English proficiency of people whose native language is not English. TOEFL scores are required for purposes of admission by more than 2,400 colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. The test is also used by institutions in other countries where English is the language of instruction. In addition, government agencies, scholarship programs, and licensing/certification agencies use TOEFL scores to evaluate English proficiency.

In Vietnam, TOEFL has been changed from paper-based testing to internet-based testing since July 2006. The new format of TOEFL will test four skills of communication: listening, reading, writing and speaking. The official ETS’s website www.ets.org/toefl will provide you with information about the TOEFL iBT including format, scores, registration, practice materials and others. IIE Vietnam is no longer in charge of administering the TOEFL iBT. Please contact IIG Vietnam at 04. 773 2603 for more information.
